What's New In The App, March 2026

First up, a big thank you to all for sharing your thoughts on our app. We’re committed to constant improvement, and your insights help us get there, including planning for future updates.

Our development team has been busy in 2026 rolling out two big updates and here’s a summary of the new features.

Customisable Plant Cards 📇

We love our plant score. It’s our in-house developed algorithm that tracks all your plant data and consolidates this into a score that reflects your plant’s environment of late.

Remember, at any given point your plant might have low light or feeling the cold, but its at what extremes and how long that truly matters. Too little or too much of a thing and Willow will intervene with a notification and if needed, a care action.

We’ve also taken on your feedback that for some, it’s not the most important aspect to take at a glance. And that’s why you can now choose what’s featured on your plant card.

Plant Charts 📈

For our data enthusiasts that love digging deep into their charted Sensor data, you can do this from the one spot. Easily swap between the plants in your collection, without having to navigate back and forth through your plants.

Localisation 🌐

As Willow has expanded its global footprint with happy plant parents across the globe, we’ve also looked at how to improve the experience for all users.

This has taken various steps, from the choice of unit of measurements, to personalising blogs to your location, local weather inclusions in Sensor data analysis, and having local tried and tested marketplace products.

The latest update allows you to view and interact with our app in your native language.

Care Actions

For the busy body that can miss a plant alert or two, all actions needed to keep your plants happy and healthy are now listed in the handy care action page and in your individual plant detail page.

Mark the tasks as done as and when you complete them or allow Willow to tick them off based on the Sensor data as it rolls in.

Plant Size 🪴

You may have noticed when adding a new plant, that there is an option to select your pot size. This allows you to track and watch your plant grow to maturity, ensures a large pot extension is used for pots greater than 20cm, helps feed our care advice, and is helpful for our horticulturists to have at hand during consultations.

For all existing plants, the default has been set to medium, but you can easily change to the appropriate size.

Fertiliser Schedule Improvements 🌱

You may have found when your plant is ready for a watering and when it might like a feed of liquid fertiliser are out of sync.

To help with this, as your plant becomes thirsty, Willow now looks ahead and if a fertiliser event is imminent, we bring it forward to align. Likewise, if your plant is hungry but not quite ready for a watering, we’ll hold off on creating the action until your plant is both hungry and thirsty. Happy days.

From your preferences, you can also choose to turn off fertiliser notifications for a particular plant. This removes it from the schedule.
